This bulletin covers the process for loading stencil into the ACP. It covers prepping the stencil, loading the stencil, and tracking if needed. It is important to know that the machine should be tracked from the supply to the front of the cutter prior to attaching the leader. It's recommended to feed about 10 feet forward and back to verify the stencil is tracking straight.
Prepping the Stencil: The ACP was designed to operate with the rubber part of the stencil facing outward. In situations where the rubber is inward, the roll will need to be rerolled to operate the machine properly. From our testing process, we've seen U-Blast is rolled with the rubber out and Anchor is rolled with the rubber in.
If you're using Anchor, you will need to reroll the roll in order to run it on the machine. See the attached document or the video from the link below.
Loading the Material: Once the stencil is rubber facing out, the roll should be loaded onto the Supply bar and follow the red web path in the picture below. Read the document attached and focus on tracking the stencil from the supply roll to the cutter section. Once that section is tracking properly, move onto the leader portion below.
Attaching the Leader: The leader is designed to keep tension at the beginning of the roll. For proper operation, the leader should be attached and cutting can begin at the beginning of the roll rather than using the rolls to reach the Take-Up. Watch the video below, the leader information starts at the 1:53 mark.
Finish Tracking: Once the leader is attached, track 10 feet of material again to verify everything is tracking and ready for cutting.
